Each season, the Green Gardeners team gets requests to plant trees and hedges. Until recently, this meant we had to source specific trees from external suppliers. It sparked the idea for a boutique tree nursery in Whangarei, offering a reliable, high-quality source of trees that we grow ourselves and can now proudly offer to our clients.

Informal hedges, with a diverse mix of trees, are popular because they bring variation in colour, texture, fragrance and flowering times throughout the year. This inspired us to grow a carefully curated range of tree varieties that offer year-round interest. We affectionately call them “the usual suspects”.

Amy’s partner, Terry Green, has been the driving force behind the tree nursery. He has dedicated countless hours to pruning, weeding, staking, managing irrigation, applying fertiliser, and controlling pests and diseases. The Green Trees tree nursery is a true labour of love, and the exceptional quality of the trees reflects this.
